Travel Goals 2022

Spread the love

I have always loved to traveling. My overall travel goal is to one day live in a RV and travel the United States. I love exploring places which works well with my husbands job in baseball. I love being able to explore wherever our new home may be and the areas around it. Not sure what this year is going to bring, but hopefully be able to explore new areas. Travel goals 2022 is to experience as much as possible.

In the past, I had tried to fit something into every minute of each day. Now we make a list of our top 2-3 things that we HAVE to do then spend the rest of the time exploring. This year is different because we recently moved from California to Illinois. So we have a whole new landscape of places to visit. We have a few trips planned, but I’m excited to see more of Illinois.

Solo Trip

Going on a solo trip is something that I have wanted to do for a while. I’m thinking that I will go somewhere during baseball season. I don’t have a place in mind yet, but it something that I want to do this year. For me a solo trip will probably be to an isolated placewhere I can focus on writing and reading. I tell Gary all the time I want to go to a place where I can just sit and read all day without distractions.

Girls Trip

I was actually thinking about this one while writing about the solo trip. I did a girls weekend getaway with other bloggers about 7 years ago. It was so much fun! I don’t remember the exact spot, but there was about 10 of us bloggers. I think it would be great to do something like this again. Maybe I can combine the girls trip with a place that we can all just write together. I’m thinking maybe a trip to Sedona, AZ because it has everything. Spa, beautiful hiking, secluded area to write and reconnect with friends.

Louisville, KY

Gary and I try to get away somewhere before the season and around our anniversary. (April 30 is our anniversary) It’s a time that we can hang out together to celebrate us obviously, but gives him a time to relax before the craziness of the season. This year we are going to Louisville. We have had this on our bucket list since we have lived in WV. I am so excited that we are finally going. We have so much already planned already – Louisville Slugger Museum, Churchill Downs, Maker’s Mark.

Texas

We are going with our family tripin September/October. The dates aren’t really finalized yet, but I am so excited to explore Texas. We don’t have all specific planned out, but it will be fun to go to a place we haven’t been before together. I do know we have plans to hit a lot of towns in Texas. Austin is on our list and I can’t wait to go to the Ice Cream Museum again. Gary is excited for the possibility of being able to go to a football game.

Upper Pennisula Michigan

I did a little bit of this last year. My mom wanted to walk across the Mackinaw Bridge then explore the island. We did a little bit of the UP before the bridge walk. My parents want to do it again this year. They have a timeshare that they are thinking about renting this year. I hope that I can go up and explore the UP and see the island again. I can’t wait because the UP is so gorgeous. I was completely in shocked of the everything.

Explore Peoria

Since we just moved to Peoria we need to explore Peoria. We got here in late September and immediately got to work. Both of our full time jobs demanded a lot at first, so weekends were mostly relaxing and recharging for the next week. There is so much to see in Peoria, and I can’t wait to explore Peoria and the surrounding areas.

Secret Trips

We have a few of these trips planned, but I can’t talk about them. There are some factors that aren’t public yet. But a few of these are going to be so awesome. It’s something that I never thought I would be able to do.

I am so excited to see what this year will offer and what we’ll be able to experience. I am so excited about each one for different reasons. This year is going to be a lot about experiences and being more present in the moment. Here’s to my travel goals in 2023. Where are you going this year?

Time: 5:30p-9:30p

We got there around 6:30pm, and didn’t leave until 9:15pm. The website says the walk will take about an hour, but you can go at your own pace. There are so many lanterns in each animal exhibit.

We started going through the Asian Trail, there was year of animals. The Africa section was my favorite, but I am not going to tell you why. But it was a nice surprise, and I was way too excited.

There were hands on activities throughout the zoo, but by the time we got to some of the areas it was closed.
-make your lantern
-paint rocks to be placed around the zoo
-tattoos
-music each night

What are your “musts” when traveling? Let me k What are your “musts” when traveling? Let me know in the comments!

These are the things I always have when I travel: (arrow down)

1. Spare credit card/bank card - I typically bring this, but before my last trip my regular bank card got hacked. Now I make sure to always have 2 cards with me.
2. Portable charge/power banks - I have a charger that I keep in my car all the time. It's a 4 in 1 charger, but I also have portable charge that I keep in my bag. It has come in handy more times that I can count for me and other people.
3. Reusable water bottle - I have my Stanley when I am driving. While I am hiking I use either a water bladder or a hydroflask.
4. Reusable Bags - My favorite is the Mary Kay roll up bag. It has 4 plastic bags that holds everything I need for my morning/evening routine and shower time.
5. Books - I will most always have a physical book along with my kindle app. I love to read. During my hikes I stop throughout for snacks and reading.
6. Wet Wipes - My favorite is HyperGo because they have so many different scents. They are also 12x12 so usually 1 works for the whole body.
