Going to the gym doesn’t have to be stressful? When I was trainer, the biggest thing I heard from people was that they didn’t have the “right” stuff or forgot things at home. A question I would ask every client is “What obstacles do you think could get in your way?” This would be to acknowledge the things that could come up and the options to overcome. Packing your gym bag and putting it in the passenger seat. it’s the visual reminder when you get into your car you see it. These are things that are in my gym bag. So come along as I pack my gym bag!
Here’s the link to everything I have in my gym bag. I try to keep everything gym related in one spot.
Pack My Gym Bag
Gym Bag
Everyone says that you need a bag, but it can be any type of bag. Duffel Bag. Drawstring Bag. Backpack. Grocery Bag. Runners Belt
- Combination Lock
- Towels – one for working out. another for shower.
Toiletry Bag
My toiletry bag is the Mary Kay Roll-Up Bag. It’s 4 plastic zipper containers.
Wet Bag
Wet/ Dirty bag whatever you want to call it. I personally use a drawstring bag that I already have at home. I use one drawstring bag for clean clothes and another for my gym clothes.
Water Bottle
Being hydrated is important on several levels. Some gyms have water fountains there or bottles of water to purchase. I have a cirkul that I love because I can control the amount of flavor. Plus there are several options.
Accessories
- Resistance Bands – I have 2 types plastic & cloth bands.
- Jump Rope – This is optional. I leave mine at home.
- Notebook
- Sliding Discs
Recovery Items
These are all optional. The only reason I have them is because I used them when I was a trainer.
- Mini Foam Roller
- Compression/flossing bands
- Myofascial Release
- Massage Gun
