Fun & Unique Bucket List Ideas

Spread the love

I am obsessed with making lists rights now. I don’t know why and I can’t explain it. My favorite way to create lists is either the 101 Things to do in a 1001 Days or seasonal bucket lists. I will say when creating these lists make sure they are important and have meaning to do or else you won’t do it. I have put several things in my 101 list because I saw it someone else and thought that would be cool. I never did most of them because it never resonated with me.

Travel Ideas

  1. Visit all 50 of the United States.
  2. Visit all of the National Parks.
  3. Go to a music festival. bonus: if it’s not your ideal music choice.
  4. Go on a cross country trip. (it’s not 100% cross country, but I am planning Route 66 in 2026.)
  5. Take a train.
  6. Travel by yourself.
  7. Travel with a group of strangers. There are plenty of Facebook groups that plan trips.
  8. Travel to a different country.
  9. Visit all 7 Continents.
  10. Go somewhere during the off season. I have personally done this several times & I love it. Sometimes I prefer to go during the offseason.
  11. Plan your dream vacation. Then take it.
  12. Be in 2 places at once. I’ll let you figure out how to make that happen.

Personal

  1. Learn a new language.
  2. Do a Random Act of Kindness. it can be an isolated event, make it a weekend thing, monthly thing. So many options.
  3. Try a new sport.
  4. Visit a psychic.
  5. Donate blood.
  6. Mentor someone.
  7. Get a tattoo
  8. Start a business.
  9. Write a Book.
  10. Do that thing YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO DO.

Create a collection

  1. Pressed Pennies.
  2. Disney Coins.
  3. Disney Medals if you are a runner
  4. Baseball hats when you visit a stadium.
  5. Grabbing a patch or sticker from everywhere you go.

Places to Sleep

  1. Stay at hostel.
  2. Carcamping.
  3. Camping or Glamping. No judgement either way. I personally like them both.
  4. Stay the night on a boat.
  5. Stay at hotel that’s a once in a lifetime experience. Mine is the Eloise Suite at The Plaza Hotel.
  6. Live in an RV/ car for a certain number of days.
  7. Stay at a farm.
  8. Sleep at Rest stop. (if allowed, I personally love that Michigan has specific areas to sleep)
  9. Stay a weekend off the grid. No service.
  10. Sleep in a hammock.
  11. Book a stay at a unique spot on Airbnb. I have a saved folder of fun places to stay.

  2. Hike all day.
  3. Go with the flow. Get outside and just go with it. no plans.
  4. Go Snowshoeing.
  5. Watch a lunar or solar eclipse.
  6. Spend the weekend backpacking. I recently found Root Adventures, and I am hoping to take one of their trips soon.
  7. Walk on the beach.

Glow Wild at the @therealpeoriazoo Dates: Friday Glow Wild at the @therealpeoriazoo
Dates: Friday - Sundays until April 27
Time: 5:30p-9:30p

We got there around 6:30pm, and didn’t leave until 9:15pm. The website says the walk will take about an hour, but you can go at your own pace. There are so many lanterns in each animal exhibit.

We started going through the Asian Trail, there was year of animals. The Africa section was my favorite, but I am not going to tell you why. But it was a nice surprise, and I was way too excited.

There were hands on activities throughout the zoo, but by the time we got to some of the areas it was closed.
-make your lantern
-paint rocks to be placed around the zoo
-tattoos
-music each night

What are your “musts” when traveling? Let me k What are your “musts” when traveling? Let me know in the comments!

These are the things I always have when I travel: (arrow down)

1. Spare credit card/bank card - I typically bring this, but before my last trip my regular bank card got hacked. Now I make sure to always have 2 cards with me.
2. Portable charge/power banks - I have a charger that I keep in my car all the time. It's a 4 in 1 charger, but I also have portable charge that I keep in my bag. It has come in handy more times that I can count for me and other people.
3. Reusable water bottle - I have my Stanley when I am driving. While I am hiking I use either a water bladder or a hydroflask.
4. Reusable Bags - My favorite is the Mary Kay roll up bag. It has 4 plastic bags that holds everything I need for my morning/evening routine and shower time.
5. Books - I will most always have a physical book along with my kindle app. I love to read. During my hikes I stop throughout for snacks and reading.
6. Wet Wipes - My favorite is HyperGo because they have so many different scents. They are also 12x12 so usually 1 works for the whole body.

In the reel - Things I won't travel without
