Friday 4 Favorites – 2023 Recap

Spread the love

It’s the end of 2023. This has been a year in so many ways. It has had it ups and downs. This month’s Friday 4 Favorites is my 4 favorite memories from 2023.

Started Therapy

This summer I had breakdown. It was the worst thing I had ever experienced. I couldn’t get out of bed and couldn’t move for a few days. I went to the doctor and was told I couldn’t do any reading, because I was just trying to fix everything at once. It was exactly what I needed but didn’t know it until later.

Later that week I started meeting with a therapist. It’s been nice to talk with someone to get my thoughts & feelings out. I meet with her once a week for an hour to go over things. One of my favorite things about my session with her is she ends with reminding me I deserve good things!

Started Car Camping

This has been something on my list for a while. In some degree or another I have always wanted to live portable. I have always wanted to live in an RV, tiny house, and now my car. I love being able to travel in my car and doing as much as I want then pulling over for the night.

Being in the car, car camping, and hiking has reminded me who I am and it’s grounded. Every time I go out I learn something more about myself. I’m learning to trust myself and having confidence in myself.

Saw Alabama Stadium

I had to go Tampa for a family situation, but we stopped in Tuscaloosa. I ran around the stadium for about 30 minutes taking pictures of everything. It was so much fun, and every time i thought about heading back to my car I would find something new.

There are so many things I didn’t know about the stadium and the location. By the stadium was some grass, and of course I went over and touched it. There was an opening into the stadium and I really thought about going in but I didn’t want to get in trouble.

Packers Game

I was able to go to Green Bay for a weekend and check out a football game. The day before I did a tour of the stadium. It was super cool to see everything and learn about the stadium. I had dinner after the tour at the restaurant connected to the stadium. It was so good!

The game was really cold, but it was so much fun. I was about 15 rows up from the in zone. Opposite side front the Lambeau Leap. During the game, we found our tour guide who sells beer on game days.

Time: 5:30p-9:30p

We got there around 6:30pm, and didn’t leave until 9:15pm. The website says the walk will take about an hour, but you can go at your own pace. There are so many lanterns in each animal exhibit.

We started going through the Asian Trail, there was year of animals. The Africa section was my favorite, but I am not going to tell you why. But it was a nice surprise, and I was way too excited.

There were hands on activities throughout the zoo, but by the time we got to some of the areas it was closed.
-make your lantern
-paint rocks to be placed around the zoo
-tattoos
-music each night

What are your “musts” when traveling? Let me k What are your “musts” when traveling? Let me know in the comments!

These are the things I always have when I travel: (arrow down)

1. Spare credit card/bank card - I typically bring this, but before my last trip my regular bank card got hacked. Now I make sure to always have 2 cards with me.
2. Portable charge/power banks - I have a charger that I keep in my car all the time. It's a 4 in 1 charger, but I also have portable charge that I keep in my bag. It has come in handy more times that I can count for me and other people.
3. Reusable water bottle - I have my Stanley when I am driving. While I am hiking I use either a water bladder or a hydroflask.
4. Reusable Bags - My favorite is the Mary Kay roll up bag. It has 4 plastic bags that holds everything I need for my morning/evening routine and shower time.
5. Books - I will most always have a physical book along with my kindle app. I love to read. During my hikes I stop throughout for snacks and reading.
6. Wet Wipes - My favorite is HyperGo because they have so many different scents. They are also 12x12 so usually 1 works for the whole body.

In the reel - Things I won't travel without
