Spread the love

I know, it’s usually 4 on Friday, but I think I am going to give that a rest for a little bit but I still want to share what’s going on with my life. I loved think link up back in the day. It was such a fun way to get to know other bloggers. I miss the way that blogging use to be when you just write like you are talking to friends. I am going to use some of the words from Anne in Residence but I will also include my own words.

Watching: Besides college football on Saturdays. I am obsessed with The Challenge USA. I don’t like that it’s on CBS because if something comes up the shows gets bumped. It was suppose to be on some Sunday night but it was 60 minutes. I can’t wait for the new season on MTV that starts in a few weeks because it’s about crowning a new champion. I don’t think they will have any Vets competing. Plus Cara Maria is coming back and I absolutely LOVE her.

Preparing: I am going to be doing NaNoWriMo in November. It’s National Novel Writing Month in November. The goal is to write 50,000 words of a novel. I am not trying to write a novel right now, but I do need some inspiration and motivation to write more. I did the math and that’s 1,667 words per day. It is going to a challenge for sure, but I am also really excited about it as well. I get in my head too much instead of sitting down and writing what’s on my mind and in my heart. So I am participating but it blog form. I didn’t know this until I was looking at the website, but you can sign up and there is a word tracker available.

Reading: This year I have definitely read more than years past. I have also a really bad habit of starting several books and not finishing. There was a rainy Friday night recently where I sat in my chair by the window and read for 5 hours. I finished 2 books – Pumpkin Spice Cafe by Laurie Gilmore and Ranger by Dr Rebecca Sharp. People have reviewed PSC as something similar to Gilmore Girls. It is but it isn’t at the same time. Ranger was presented as the love story Spencer never got on Criminal Minds. Ranger is also book 4 of series, and I only read that one but I do want to go back and read the whole series. I would recommend Ranger any day.

Making: I hope my coworkers aren’t reading this because it’s their Christmas present. I have a bunch of cotton yarn that I purchased when I had my Etsy shop. I’m trying to downsize and get rid of things. So I have been making cotton crochet eye and face make up remover pads. I have made these for several people and even myself. I think I am down to 5 skeins of yarn. Then I have to package them up with the twine and ribbon. I can’t wait to share with everyone at our holiday party. After I am down with those, I might make earwarmers. I’m not sure yet.

Releasing: I reset my goal on getting rid of things mostly because I had to reset my phone and lost the list. The list started last month and will go until December 2024. The amount is 1519 items that I want to get rid of. I’m currently at 20. I have a long way to go but I think I can do it.

Dates: Friday - Sundays until April 27
Time: 5:30p-9:30p

We got there around 6:30pm, and didn’t leave until 9:15pm. The website says the walk will take about an hour, but you can go at your own pace. There are so many lanterns in each animal exhibit.

We started going through the Asian Trail, there was year of animals. The Africa section was my favorite, but I am not going to tell you why. But it was a nice surprise, and I was way too excited.

There were hands on activities throughout the zoo, but by the time we got to some of the areas it was closed.
-make your lantern
-paint rocks to be placed around the zoo
-tattoos
-music each night

What are your “musts” when traveling? Let me k What are your “musts” when traveling? Let me know in the comments!

These are the things I always have when I travel: (arrow down)

1. Spare credit card/bank card - I typically bring this, but before my last trip my regular bank card got hacked. Now I make sure to always have 2 cards with me.
2. Portable charge/power banks - I have a charger that I keep in my car all the time. It's a 4 in 1 charger, but I also have portable charge that I keep in my bag. It has come in handy more times that I can count for me and other people.
3. Reusable water bottle - I have my Stanley when I am driving. While I am hiking I use either a water bladder or a hydroflask.
4. Reusable Bags - My favorite is the Mary Kay roll up bag. It has 4 plastic bags that holds everything I need for my morning/evening routine and shower time.
5. Books - I will most always have a physical book along with my kindle app. I love to read. During my hikes I stop throughout for snacks and reading.
6. Wet Wipes - My favorite is HyperGo because they have so many different scents. They are also 12x12 so usually 1 works for the whole body.

In the reel - Things I won't travel without
