Currently In April

Spread the love

April has been a month! I don’t even know why, but I have had zero motivation. I have barely written anything. All I have been doing is work and sleep. I can’t even work and home, because I work from home. But if you are regular here, you know it’s 4 Friday Favorites but I have nothing for you. I wanted to post because I wanted to get the streak going. This month I am going to do a little “currently” series. This was popular a while back in blogging where there would be a word and you would write what you currently doing whatever that words was. Completely lost. yeah, me too.

Let’s do an example, coordinating. So what are you currently coordinating? My answer is my capsule wardrobe. This has been on my to-do list forever and I’m excited to finally be doing it. I just hope I can implement it and keep it going. Check out my journey here.

So I’m just going to do a bunch of these and say whatever comes to my mind. Let me know if we have any of the same answers.

Currently In April

  • Reading: Nothing. I have been in a reading slump, but I have a massive TBR list growing in my Amazon wish list and on my bookshelf. AND yes, I continue to buy books. I’m a sucker for a pretty cover.
  • Eyeing: Either a new backpack for hiking or hiking poles. I have a big trip this summer where I could possibly need hiking poles. I don’t need a new backpack, but I found one that would hold a lot more things that I could carry with me when I’m exploring.
  • Manifesting: Freelance Writing & Photographer. I have wanted to do something in photography my whole life. I am always taking a massive amount of pictures of anything and everything. There is always a camera in my hand. Doing freelance writing has been a dream for so long. I have been so terrified to put myself out there for a really long time for a variety of no-good reasons, but I’m finally doing it. I have been emailing and putting myself out there, and it feels really good.
  • Feeling: My first reaction is love. I am in a spot right now where I am working on myself. I felt lost for a really long time, and I’m starting to feel like I am on the right track. It sounds weird to say I’m learning to trust myself. I’m learning to love myself – like really love who I am.
  • Tasting: Po’Boys in Peoria. I love New Orleans and most importantly their food. There is a restaurant that recently opened in Peoria called Po’Boys. They have some of the best New Orleans food. The shrimp and grits are so good.
  • Listening: The Chainsmokers. Illenium. Bonnie x Clyde. Sports Radio. Bebe Rexha. Dean Lewis. Morgan Wallen. 92 Legend. I listen to a variety of different music.
  • Drinking: Anything except water honestly. I have been really about drinking water.
  • Wearing: My wardrobe from March to Sept/Oct is long-sleeved shirts and shorts. Right now, I have my navy blue Chicago Cubs long-sleeve with gray Nike shorts.
  • Planning: my big summer trip. I have a bunch of books and magazines on the place that I am going. it’s about that time I go through everything and mark things that I want to do.
  • Collecting: Pressed pennies. On every trip, I now make sure I have enough pennies and quarters for pressed pennies if a place has it. It’s one of my favorite souvenirs to bring home.
  • Eating: Chips & Dip. I have been obsessed with cheese dip and chips. it’s been my go-to lately. My doctor started prescribing me Adderall and my appetite has decreased significantly. It’s interesting now that all I want to do is snack all the time. I rarely eat a full meal.

This is all I got for today!

Glow Wild at the @therealpeoriazoo Dates: Friday Glow Wild at the @therealpeoriazoo
Dates: Friday - Sundays until April 27
Time: 5:30p-9:30p

We got there around 6:30pm, and didn’t leave until 9:15pm. The website says the walk will take about an hour, but you can go at your own pace. There are so many lanterns in each animal exhibit.

We started going through the Asian Trail, there was year of animals. The Africa section was my favorite, but I am not going to tell you why. But it was a nice surprise, and I was way too excited.

There were hands on activities throughout the zoo, but by the time we got to some of the areas it was closed.
-make your lantern
-paint rocks to be placed around the zoo
-tattoos
-music each night

What are your “musts” when traveling? Let me k What are your “musts” when traveling? Let me know in the comments!

These are the things I always have when I travel: (arrow down)

1. Spare credit card/bank card - I typically bring this, but before my last trip my regular bank card got hacked. Now I make sure to always have 2 cards with me.
2. Portable charge/power banks - I have a charger that I keep in my car all the time. It's a 4 in 1 charger, but I also have portable charge that I keep in my bag. It has come in handy more times that I can count for me and other people.
3. Reusable water bottle - I have my Stanley when I am driving. While I am hiking I use either a water bladder or a hydroflask.
4. Reusable Bags - My favorite is the Mary Kay roll up bag. It has 4 plastic bags that holds everything I need for my morning/evening routine and shower time.
5. Books - I will most always have a physical book along with my kindle app. I love to read. During my hikes I stop throughout for snacks and reading.
6. Wet Wipes - My favorite is HyperGo because they have so many different scents. They are also 12x12 so usually 1 works for the whole body.
