This month is the 4 best things I LOVED in Vegas. We just got back from a week long trip to Vegas. Honestly, I was ready to come home by Wednesday. There is not that much to do in Vegas to keep us entertained that long. Kinda wish we would have done the Grand Canyon in this trip, but there is so much that I want to do there. I am not sure we could have gotten it all in a few days. I think the Grand Canyon is it’s own trip.
Hiking
We did 2 different hikes while in Vegas – Red Rocks and Valley of Fire. We did Red Rocks on Saturday and Valley of Fire on Tuesday. I don’t remember where I read but it was recommended to Red Rocks first then Valley of Fire next. Which I highly recommend doing. I also recommend going first thing in the morning.
Red Rocks is a 13 mile scenic drive with a variety of turnouts for hiking and taking pictures. The website says that you need a reservation but people were purchasing when they go there. The scenic drive pass is good for all day so you can go back if you miss anything. One of my favorite things about the drive is that is one way. We went early morning and there is was hardly anyone there. It was great because we could as slow or as fast as we wanted. My favorite is stop is Fire Ecology, but everywhere you look is absolutely gorgeous.
Valley of Fire is about an hour from Vegas. We woke up super early and got there around 7am. It was totally worth it because there was NO one there. We didn’t see people until we were about to leave. We started at the west entrance. One of the things that I wanted to see was Elephant Rock, which was located on the east entrance. We drove to the other entrance and made our way back to where we started. My favorite part was the Fire Canyon/Silica Dome because of the slot canyon. It was so much better to see in person than any pictures.
Seven Magic Mountains
I love the Seven Magic Mountains!! It is one of my favorite places in Vegas. (Even though it’s outside of Vegas.) I have been there 3 times and each time it’s amazing. I have a different feeling. The first time was just to see it because everyone was going there, and I wanted to see it too. When I got there I was shocked and just loving the beauty of it all. The second time I was a deep depression, and I was hoping by visiting I would get my safety and contentment back. Then this time it was all about joy and happiness. I loved seeing the colors and the beauty of it all. It was great because we also got there early and had it all to ourselves.
Pearl Factory
I am obsessed with pearls. I have always loved pearls. I found this place the first time we went to Vegas by accident. It’s a kiosk in the middle of the Venetian. The premise of the store is that they have oysters buckets around the kiosk. You pick the one you like the most, and each oyster is guaranteed to have at least one pearl. Afterwards they try to upsell you to necklaces and earrings. Each time I get the basic pearl holder and so happy with it. Every time I go to Vegas I always stop by and grab a pearl.
Magician’s Study
I found this through a Vegas Starfish on instagram. As soon as I found it, I booked a show. It did not disappoint and I highly recommend it. The Magician Study is such a mystery from start to finish. When you book a show all you know is the time of the show. Then at 12 o’clock on the day of the show you get the first location to meet. When you get there you find a bartender and tell her “the rabbit sent me.” The drinks at our private bar was so good. I got the enchanted rabbit drink, and it didn’t disappoint. I wish I could remember what was in it because I want to drink it all the time!!! From your private bar you are guided to the show location. The Magician Study DOES NOT disappoint. I highly recommend it to everyone!!
Vegas
I have been to Vegas 3 times and I am not sure when I will go back. I have had my fill of Vegas and not sure Vegas can do much more for me. Vegas is such a great city and has something for everyone. I am not a gambler but I kept myself busy and entertained for the week.
