Week 12/52 Gratitude Challenge – Open

Spread the love

Another week of gratitude challenge, and this week has an OPEN theme. I am really grateful for this theme because the past few weeks have been tough to explain. Things are great and making progress on my goals. I haven’t not been grateful but it also hasn’t been a priority. I have a gratitude book that I am not very consistent with. It’s kind of like working out. When I’m consistent I feel the benefits, but I JUST DON’T do it. (This is something I am working on.)

The Challenge

Each week has a different theme about something to be grateful for or bring gratitude towards. This is NOT my idea. I got my idea and several themes from Local Adventurer. The goal has always been to write these weekly, but sometimes it hasn’t always worked out that way. But I still have 40 more weeks, so there’s still time.

Gratitude Challenge – Open

This week is almost like a reset for me. Time to refocus on this challenge and make it more of a priority. To be honest, some of the prompts might change. I’m not quite sure, but it’s definitely a thought.

My gratitude journal will also be going to work with me daily. There was a time that I set an alarm at 11a, and wrote down 1 thing I was grateful for. Then I switched back to my gratitude journal, and that habit did too. I have added a gratitude journal to Hello Habit for me to check out every day.

A positive that has come from this gratitude challenge is the words gratitude or grateful don’t stress me out as much. I don’t remember where I read this but instead of trying to think of one thing to write down, think “I get….” This has been a game-changer for me. What is something I get to do or I got to do.

Moving Forward

Each Thursday by 1pm a blog post will go live with my thoughts about that prompt.

Next week’s prompt is Snack/ Meal/ Beverage.

Dates: Friday - Sundays until April 27
Time: 5:30p-9:30p

We got there around 6:30pm, and didn’t leave until 9:15pm. The website says the walk will take about an hour, but you can go at your own pace. There are so many lanterns in each animal exhibit.

We started going through the Asian Trail, there was year of animals. The Africa section was my favorite, but I am not going to tell you why. But it was a nice surprise, and I was way too excited.

There were hands on activities throughout the zoo, but by the time we got to some of the areas it was closed.
-make your lantern
-paint rocks to be placed around the zoo
-tattoos
-music each night

What are your “musts” when traveling? Let me k What are your “musts” when traveling? Let me know in the comments!

These are the things I always have when I travel: (arrow down)

1. Spare credit card/bank card - I typically bring this, but before my last trip my regular bank card got hacked. Now I make sure to always have 2 cards with me.
2. Portable charge/power banks - I have a charger that I keep in my car all the time. It's a 4 in 1 charger, but I also have portable charge that I keep in my bag. It has come in handy more times that I can count for me and other people.
3. Reusable water bottle - I have my Stanley when I am driving. While I am hiking I use either a water bladder or a hydroflask.
4. Reusable Bags - My favorite is the Mary Kay roll up bag. It has 4 plastic bags that holds everything I need for my morning/evening routine and shower time.
5. Books - I will most always have a physical book along with my kindle app. I love to read. During my hikes I stop throughout for snacks and reading.
6. Wet Wipes - My favorite is HyperGo because they have so many different scents. They are also 12x12 so usually 1 works for the whole body.

In the reel - Things I won't travel without
