4 on Friday – June Edition

Spread the love

4 of Friday is me sharing anything honestly. It could be products that I love (or hate), apps I have been using, something about myself you may not know, or anything I wanted to share.

MacBook Air

Gary got me a new computer. I have been wanting one for a while. We had a Chromebook, but it lagging so bad. I feel like I tried everything – deleting files I don’t use, move as much as I could to dropbox or external hard drive, factory reset. Nothing seemed to work. Since I have been using the computer more, Gary told me to do my research and find the computer that would work best for what I wanted to accomplish. I initially wanted a MacBook Pro, but the more I did my research the Air was perfect for me. I also wanted to go with a lot of memory, but he reminded me that I don’t use as much as think.

I have had the computer for a few weeks now, and I am in LOVE. It’s so lightweight and fits anywhere. I can’t wait to take it with me on my trips.

Google Sheets

I use google sheets to plan all my trips. I think it is the easier to share with multiple people and stay organized. We are going on a family trip in October. On one sheet is the interiary for each day – I have the days of the week along the top with the time down the side. It’s keeping track of when we all arrive and leave, dinner reservations already made. Another sheet is the financial breakdown of what we owe each other. This way there is tracking of how much everything costs and what their portion is for the trip.

Chicago

Another trip that I am SO EXCITED about that I can’t stop talking about it Chicago. I am going to Chicago for my birthday. I have never been to Chicago (I know, right) PLUS, the Museum of Ice Cream is opening. Literally ON MY BIRTHDAY. This is the closest I will ever get to Willy Wonka’s factory. I am staying at really nice hotel next to the museum. While I am there I finally getting to use last year’s birthday present. A SPA DAY. Gary got me a spa day last year, but I knew we were moving to Peoria. I wanted to save as much money for the move. I’m going Aire Ancient Bath. I can’t wait!!!

I usually don’t get too excited about my birthday, but this year is going to be SO MUCH FUN! The only downfall is that Gary has to work my birthday weekend. It’s one of the bigger weekends, so he won’t be able to go with me to Chicago. I’m super pumped about that because he takes the best pictures and best hype man.

The High 5 Habits

This year I am really focused on development and learning. My goal each day is to read at least 10 pages of a personal development book, personal book and educational book. The personal development is anything business and mindset. Personal is a non thinking book. It’s a book that I can get lost in. Educational is something towards fitness and nutrition.

I have had this book for a while. in 2021, I was on book buying freeze. I had so many books that I haven’t finished or even started. Gary got me this book for Christmas. It took me a while to read it, but it is so good! I learned so many great tips on doing stuff for myself. I am adding a high 5 to myself every morning after my skin care routine.

Come back in July to see what I am loving next!!

Time: 5:30p-9:30p

We got there around 6:30pm, and didn’t leave until 9:15pm. The website says the walk will take about an hour, but you can go at your own pace. There are so many lanterns in each animal exhibit.

We started going through the Asian Trail, there was year of animals. The Africa section was my favorite, but I am not going to tell you why. But it was a nice surprise, and I was way too excited.

There were hands on activities throughout the zoo, but by the time we got to some of the areas it was closed.
-make your lantern
-paint rocks to be placed around the zoo
-tattoos
-music each night

What are your “musts” when traveling? Let me k What are your “musts” when traveling? Let me know in the comments!

These are the things I always have when I travel: (arrow down)

1. Spare credit card/bank card - I typically bring this, but before my last trip my regular bank card got hacked. Now I make sure to always have 2 cards with me.
2. Portable charge/power banks - I have a charger that I keep in my car all the time. It's a 4 in 1 charger, but I also have portable charge that I keep in my bag. It has come in handy more times that I can count for me and other people.
3. Reusable water bottle - I have my Stanley when I am driving. While I am hiking I use either a water bladder or a hydroflask.
4. Reusable Bags - My favorite is the Mary Kay roll up bag. It has 4 plastic bags that holds everything I need for my morning/evening routine and shower time.
5. Books - I will most always have a physical book along with my kindle app. I love to read. During my hikes I stop throughout for snacks and reading.
6. Wet Wipes - My favorite is HyperGo because they have so many different scents. They are also 12x12 so usually 1 works for the whole body.
