4 on Friday – May

Spread the love

Here we are again for the 4 things on Friday. If you are new here, it’s where I share 4 random things about myself, products I use, thoughts, whatever and I make a post about them. Some times there might be a theme or other times it might be 4 random thoughts.

This month is 4 things I that I am obsessed with that you probably didn’t know about me.

Obsessed with History

I love history and learning about things from the past. It was also my favorite subject in school. I even thought about becoming a historian for a brief moment. I still think it would be cool to do, but I have so many interests that I couldn’t think about narrowing down to just one thing. My interests have changed so much over the years that I can’t think about being a master of one topic.

But I have always loved history and how it has affected our current life. I also think if something didn’t happen how would our lives be. Would things still be the same or would the eventually turn out the way they did? I think we can also learn from history and other people. I am a big advocate that we can learn from any situation, but we have to open to it. We must come to the table with a open mind and heart to be able to hear what the other person is saying without trying to change their mind or being defensive.

Even though I am HORRIBLE at it. I think history and science are 2 subjects that we can learn the most from. We can learn from both and believe in both. They don’t have to be separate beliefs. Each subject can work together to make the world and us better.

Charlie & the Chocolate Factory

Or Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Honestly both are great movies and a must watch. But you should read the book first. I am absolutely OBSESSED with both. As I have gotten older, I have developed a MAJOR sweet tooth. Anything related to this I am all about. I can’t even explain why I am obsessed with each one of the movies and each of the characters.

The Royals

I have been obsessed with the Royal Family for as long as I can remember. I was obsessed over Princess Diana and would collect anything of hers. I don’t know how to explain, but the royal family has this spell over me. I want to know everything about them. Over the past few years, I have been in a few disagreements with people over the royal family. To me, I think Harry should have stayed in England. If Meghan didn’t want to be in the public eye, why would she marry such a public figure. And why do all of these public appearances. I am very much a tradition person. Traditions are not meant to be broken or changed. (To some degree, not everything.)

I love the Netflix The Royals because again based on history. So I know what really happened and how they made it for television. Also I really love to see how similar they look to the actual person. Sometimes they nail it and sometimes not so much. Princess Margaret is the one that gives me the chills. In one season, I really didn’t like how she was portrayed and the scenes that they chose. Then the next season, I thought she was fabulous.

Book/Movies

So if a movie is made but it’s a book first you need to read the book first. I don’t know why but it’s a must for me. If I know that it’s a book first, I usually read the book first then the movies. I did this with Friday Night Lights, and also it’s a true story. I love know what really happened then how they changed it for a movie. The one book that I didn’t read before I watched the movie/series was The Flight Attendant. I absolutely love Kacey Cuoco. It’s on my list of books to read.

Dates: Friday - Sundays until April 27
Time: 5:30p-9:30p

We got there around 6:30pm, and didn’t leave until 9:15pm. The website says the walk will take about an hour, but you can go at your own pace. There are so many lanterns in each animal exhibit.

We started going through the Asian Trail, there was year of animals. The Africa section was my favorite, but I am not going to tell you why. But it was a nice surprise, and I was way too excited.

There were hands on activities throughout the zoo, but by the time we got to some of the areas it was closed.
-make your lantern
-paint rocks to be placed around the zoo
-tattoos
-music each night

These are the things I always have when I travel: (arrow down)

1. Spare credit card/bank card - I typically bring this, but before my last trip my regular bank card got hacked. Now I make sure to always have 2 cards with me.
2. Portable charge/power banks - I have a charger that I keep in my car all the time. It's a 4 in 1 charger, but I also have portable charge that I keep in my bag. It has come in handy more times that I can count for me and other people.
3. Reusable water bottle - I have my Stanley when I am driving. While I am hiking I use either a water bladder or a hydroflask.
4. Reusable Bags - My favorite is the Mary Kay roll up bag. It has 4 plastic bags that holds everything I need for my morning/evening routine and shower time.
5. Books - I will most always have a physical book along with my kindle app. I love to read. During my hikes I stop throughout for snacks and reading.
6. Wet Wipes - My favorite is HyperGo because they have so many different scents. They are also 12x12 so usually 1 works for the whole body.
