Friday 4 Favorites – August – College Football

Spread the love

The time is here for another 4 on 4 for August. It’s the number 4 because it’s my favorite number. I have a few favorite players that wore number 4. I also like 4 because it’s an even number because I have an issue with odd numbers. This month’s 4 on 4 is all about college football. Week 0 of college football starts on Saturday.

Southeastern Conference (SEC)

I love the SEC! Many say I am SEC bias. Usually I just laugh this out but it’s actually really annoying. I HATE saying this but I feel like it’s because I am girl. You never hear when guys are spurting out facts (an opinions) about their favorite teams or not so favorite team. Yes, I have alligence to the SEC specifically Arkansas.

I also look at it from a big picture or a different perspective that is bigger than football. For every SEC team that goes to a bowl game gets money. The SEC pools all the money together and splits between each time. So more SEC teams the more money Arkansas gets without even trying. That is another reason I LOVE the SEC is because it a community. SEC = It just means more!

Iowa State Cyclones

I am really excited for this season because we lost a lot of seniors last year. ISU has a lot of new players in new positions and I am excited to see what they can do. I was an ISU fan growing up, then switched to Arkansas fan. Then I went to ISU and became a Cyclone fan once again. My time at ISU was very different and challenging than other college student. Also very different than I expected it to be, if I’m being honest. Now that we live closer to Ames, I am hoping to make it to more games.

Phil Steele

I have been following Phil Steele for a long time. I read his college football book ALMOST every year. We grab it multiple times a day during football season. It comes out early August, and that’s when we get it. I am obsessed with college football. I created a medium site where I want to write more about college football and sports in general.

Week 0

I don’t know how I really feel about week 0. I like the kick off feeling but I go back and forth on how I feel about the games. It’s also hard with scheduling because most teams have their schedule 10 years in advance. Some times it’s a good match up and most of the time it’s not. I would like to see big match ups from teams that don’t typically play each other.

Time: 5:30p-9:30p

We got there around 6:30pm, and didn’t leave until 9:15pm. The website says the walk will take about an hour, but you can go at your own pace. There are so many lanterns in each animal exhibit.

We started going through the Asian Trail, there was year of animals. The Africa section was my favorite, but I am not going to tell you why. But it was a nice surprise, and I was way too excited.

There were hands on activities throughout the zoo, but by the time we got to some of the areas it was closed.
-make your lantern
-paint rocks to be placed around the zoo
-tattoos
-music each night

What are your “musts” when traveling? Let me k What are your “musts” when traveling? Let me know in the comments!

These are the things I always have when I travel: (arrow down)

1. Spare credit card/bank card - I typically bring this, but before my last trip my regular bank card got hacked. Now I make sure to always have 2 cards with me.
2. Portable charge/power banks - I have a charger that I keep in my car all the time. It's a 4 in 1 charger, but I also have portable charge that I keep in my bag. It has come in handy more times that I can count for me and other people.
3. Reusable water bottle - I have my Stanley when I am driving. While I am hiking I use either a water bladder or a hydroflask.
4. Reusable Bags - My favorite is the Mary Kay roll up bag. It has 4 plastic bags that holds everything I need for my morning/evening routine and shower time.
5. Books - I will most always have a physical book along with my kindle app. I love to read. During my hikes I stop throughout for snacks and reading.
6. Wet Wipes - My favorite is HyperGo because they have so many different scents. They are also 12x12 so usually 1 works for the whole body.
