20+ Things to do In Washington

Spread the love

There is more to do in Washington than Seattle, Starbucks, and Amazon. I promise you. I don’t have a lot of food recommendations in Seattle, but I can give you tons of places to visit. Most of the trips were quick day or weekend trips. I wanted to explore the area because I didn’t know when I was going to move. One regret I have about living in Washington is I wish I was more into hiking and car camping because Washington (and the Pacific Northwest) is perfect for that.

  1. Pike Place – I have gone here several times while living in Washington. Each time was different and I saw something I hadn’t seen before. I recommend taking the tram and then walking 2 blocks. Parking is incredibly difficult. (Honestly, parking in Seattle is the worst.)
  2. Funko HQ – I didn’t know what Funko’s were until they built their HQ in Everett, WA. If you don’t know, Funko’s are similar to bobbleheads.
  3. Olympic Peninsula – One of the most popular places to visit in Washington. I wish I had explored more of this area. The park is nearly 1 million acres. I did a quick day trip driving around the peninsula. It was super pretty.
  4. Space Needle – This is part of an area that has so much to do. I would recommend getting the Seattle City Pass. This will give you a discount to experience the Space Needle and a bunch of other good things in the area.
  5. Leavenworth – I wish I would have spent more time here because it was so pretty. We drove through the town as we were going on another scenic drive. The town itself is so adorable in this Bavarian-inspired.
  6. Museum of PoP –
  7. Chihuly Garden and Glass
  8. Largest Red Rider Wagon – Spokane, IL
  9. San Juan Islands – One of the best places for whale watching.
  10. Whidbey Island – This is one of my favorite places in Washington. When I lived in Washington, I spent a lot of time over at Whidbey Island. It was the closest ferry ride to where I lived.
  11. Mount Rainier – On really clear days you can see Mt. Rainier for the interstate in Seattle.
  12. North Casicades
  13. Pacific Coast Highway – Washington Scenic Coastways are so beautiful.
  14. Snaquomie Falls
  15. Skaget Tulip Festival – north of Seattle –
  16. Chuckanut Drive – Bellingham
  17. Future of Flight – Everett Airport had during the summer where you can watch the planes land from the balcony. Over the speaker they had the radio. It was super cool to hear the pilots and control tower speaking to each other.
  18. Woodinville
  19. Breweries Tour – I spend so many weekends going to different breweries in Washington.
  20. Deception Pass – This is one of my favorite places I have ever visited. It is so beautiful and peaceful.
  21. Centennial Trail – Spokane, WA. There are waterfalls and tram that will take you over the falls.
  22. Boat Tailgate or Boat to University of Washington game – I didn’t do either when I lived there but I wish I did. Everyone talks about it.
  23. Ride in an airboat – Around Seattle, there are so many companies that will take you to other parts of Washington via Airboat.

This is just the beginning of things to do in Washington. This is a combination of things that I did when I lived there along with things that I wish I did. A trip to Washington is probably in the future.

Glow Wild at the @therealpeoriazoo Dates: Friday Glow Wild at the @therealpeoriazoo
Dates: Friday - Sundays until April 27
Time: 5:30p-9:30p

We got there around 6:30pm, and didn’t leave until 9:15pm. The website says the walk will take about an hour, but you can go at your own pace. There are so many lanterns in each animal exhibit.

We started going through the Asian Trail, there was year of animals. The Africa section was my favorite, but I am not going to tell you why. But it was a nice surprise, and I was way too excited.

There were hands on activities throughout the zoo, but by the time we got to some of the areas it was closed.
-make your lantern
-paint rocks to be placed around the zoo
-tattoos
-music each night

What are your “musts” when traveling? Let me k What are your “musts” when traveling? Let me know in the comments!

These are the things I always have when I travel: (arrow down)

1. Spare credit card/bank card - I typically bring this, but before my last trip my regular bank card got hacked. Now I make sure to always have 2 cards with me.
2. Portable charge/power banks - I have a charger that I keep in my car all the time. It's a 4 in 1 charger, but I also have portable charge that I keep in my bag. It has come in handy more times that I can count for me and other people.
3. Reusable water bottle - I have my Stanley when I am driving. While I am hiking I use either a water bladder or a hydroflask.
4. Reusable Bags - My favorite is the Mary Kay roll up bag. It has 4 plastic bags that holds everything I need for my morning/evening routine and shower time.
5. Books - I will most always have a physical book along with my kindle app. I love to read. During my hikes I stop throughout for snacks and reading.
6. Wet Wipes - My favorite is HyperGo because they have so many different scents. They are also 12x12 so usually 1 works for the whole body.
